If your ED medication has become less effective over time, you're not alone. PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra (sildenafil) and Cialis (tadalafil) work by temporarily increasing blood flow — but they don't address the underlying vascular deterioration that caused ED in the first place. Over time, as blood vessels continue to degrade, the pills may produce weaker results or stop working altogether.

Shockwave therapy takes the opposite approach. Rather than forcing a temporary response, it stimulates the growth of new blood vessels (neovascularization) and repairs existing vascular tissue. Many men find that after completing a course of shockwave therapy, their ED medications become effective again — or they no longer need them.
